asthma after eating
Hello Lona is it possible that gastric reflux may be the problem?
a lot of asthma medicines including prednisolone can cause reflux which in turn can cause asthma symptoms.
if reflux is the problem then it is possible it can be treated effectively with stomach protectants such as Omeprazole.
hope you get some answers soon

I've found that certain types of food trigger my asthma. Anything with a lot of additives sets me off, especially sweets and things like icing. Very doughy foods can give me an attack also. Perhaps keeping track of what you eat and what sets you off may help?
Hi lona,
have had the same problem for years. With me it was potatos, chips, certain bread types. But noticed that some days are better than others.
Just got tight chest and coughing after a meal the other day and haven't got a clue what the trigger was but due to recent problems I'm getting referred to an allery specialist now because I want to find out exactly what it could be.
I spoke to a dietition last year by chance and he said I should try cutting out dairies and I did. What a change! The constant clogged up throat is a lot better and the stomach pains and bloaty feeling I've had for half my life has gone. All the doctors I've been to see said the pains where hormonal or whatever. Well, they weren't.
Try to write down what you eat and how you feel after it. I'm doing that now but if in doubt get yourself to see a specialist too.
Hope you'll find all the answers soon.
