Stopping breathing...

Noticed the other day that my 2 and a half year old,who was breathing really quietly for a change, stopped breathing when he was sleeping for about 10 seconds..he was fine in himself.

Just wondered if anyone has noticed this,is it something I should be concerned about?xx

Hi,

I would think it is pretty normal. We all do this. I know Martha does.

A sleep apenoa (when you stop breathing while asleep) normally lasts more than 20 secs to be classed as an apenoa. the babies (neonates) where i work have apenoa alarms on and they are always set for 20 secs.

If you are worried i would talk with your GP or asthma nurse.

Hope that helps.

Hows harvey otherwise?

Message me if you on face book and we can add each other there as our lo are ruffly the same age.
