I've been having an asthma attack everyday for last few weeks in varying degrees of severity .Most nights I'm up and can't sleep for wheezing and coughing .Get worried sometimes as can't get my breath back and inhalers not working .

I know I should go to doctor but don't want steroids as they make me so unwell .

Feeling quite miserable just now not fit to do anything .A year ago I was hardly using inhalers and was very fit but due to tressfull job and getting ill with chest infection things have gone downhill .Due to the steroids and not being able to exercise I have put on so much weight ,which I'm trying to lose .

hi, missytess! its the exact same with me. i had my asthma chec yesterday and they said it was bad, but not bad enough to go to the hosp. im in my second year of secondary scho11, and they said to me that if i need steriods i shoud be going to the hosp! and i fee as if i do need them, but im scared to! i can get comments from other students about my asthma and its so hard when i do HAVE to have them! they thinc its amusing to watch me suffer! they thinc its funny that have to have a "weird thing inside my mouth" and they say that i dont have asthma and i do to get out of p.e when its bad. did you ever get this? (and sorry for mistaces in grammer, some of the ceys on my ceyboard dont worc. you can te11 which .cinda.)

You need to ignore those people at school and do exactly what you think is best for your health. They will grow up later and realise their comments were stupid.... Meanwhile your health is the important thing.

My asthma is largely controlled as long as I use my inhalers (too easy to forget)My orecenter is now the new DuoResp Spriomax 320/9. I was previously using Symbicort 400/12. Occasionally I get fluid on my lungs which can make breathing difficult, but have water tablets when I have too much fluid retention. Although I do gasp from time-to-time, such occasions pale into insignificance compared with the problems I suffer with Polymyalgia Rheumatica. (PMR)
