The only way to know for sure is to be diagnosed by a professional. Your GP is the best place to start with that but some are more helpful than others and it is not always easy to get a referal. Some people pay for a private diagnosis but that is expensive. I'm guessing you have probably read a lot about Aspergers, there is a lot of information online and many books about the subject, so if you feel that you fit the description you may well be right. Here are a couple of websites which you may find helpful. autism.org.uk/ actionforaspergers.org

I agree with corriefan. You need to speak to your GP. If you don't have any luck there, contact the National Autistic Society. autism.org.uk/ They might be able to point you in the right direction. I think there are a lot of people out there who are undiagnosed. It depends on how important that understanding is for you as to how strongly you push for answers. Best of luck.

Maybe it's better if I don't know.

You will need an assessment from a qualified person or you can read a site on the net and take your own test to see if you are.
