A family affair. :)

As a child I grew up with many orthopaedic procedures, those lovely black chunky boots ETC. Back pain, ankle pain and all that goes with that! It was only a year after my 9 year old daughter Michelle was diagnosed in 2010 with severe polyarticular disease (with HLA B27 positivity) that we connected all the dots - that I too was HLA positive and suffered in particular with cervical arthritis and enthesitis. To cut a long story very short- Mich is on high dose Revellex and is generally doing well and I am about to start Revellex myself. My older daughter Jess has IBD and takes Salazopyrin. As a family we cope well and don't build our lives around our illness. Both my girls are as daring as ever- Mich plays waterpolo when well, cycles like a demon, and Jess has recently climbed Kilimanjaro. I would like to hear your stories.. Di

Hi Di,

Thank you for sharing your story! Your two girls sound wonderful and so strong - how blessed you are to have them.

Hopefully more people will share their stories too soon :)

Best wishes,

Lora

I admire so much that you don't allow your lives to be shaped by the illness. Too many people do and it's heart breaking to see. Very much respect for you and your family.

All the very best to you
