Hi Everyone. I think I may have posted in the past--anyways I hope it is ok to be here as I am in USA. I am wondering how many people with svt have what feels like a vagal trigger? My episodes are usually at 220 BPM. Before every episode that I feel, my super sternal notch always feels like there is pressure. I can feel cartilage maybe compressing for a few seconds and a feeling of circulation being cut in the area before every attack. I feel very strange and then I put my finger up to my carotid pulse to check the pulse as I can't really detect it in my heart area(thankfully). I then put on the finger monitor to check see the number. I feel as I age the vagal feeling may be worsening. I have recently found a new trick to get the pulse down and that is ice over the neck area around the SS notch. Also, lately I feel a lot of vagal symptoms without the svt. I am 65. Thanks!

Good afternoon.
Thank you for your post on the SVT support forum.
Most people with supraventricular tachycardia don't need treatment. When recommended, treatment may include specific actions or movements, medicines, a heart procedure, or a device to control the heartbeat.
SVT happens when the electrical system that controls your heart rhythm is not working properly. This causes your heart to suddenly beat much faster. It can then slow down abruptly. This can happen when you're resting or doing exercise.
I have downloaded our booklet SVT Patient information;
