We think diagnostic technologies like this can be especially useful during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing a patient to first have a telephone/video consultation before the patch is sent direct to their home.
Zio is a promising new ECG patch which can be worn for up to 14 days. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has just recommended it as an NHS option for people with suspected cardiac arrhythmias who would benefit from ECG monitoring for longer than 24 hours. NICE says Zio XT is convenient and easy to wear and gives doctors more information to help with a diagnosis, compared with standard 24 hour Holter monitoring.
But we want to know what you think.
If you’re based in the UK and have worn one, or think you would like to, we would love to talk to you. Please contact us by calling 01789 867501 or emailing info@heartrhythmalliance.org.
