New to Afib

I’ve had PVCs for years but lately have had new symptoms which could be Afib. I was woken in the night by a strong, rhythmic flapping sensation in my heart, together with a racing heartbeat. The flapping was very distinct, like a bird’s wings, and went on for a few seconds, maybe a minute. Does this sound like Afib? Or flutter? I’ve also had a strange hot/burning sensation that starts in the chest and creeps out to my arms and neck, leaving my arms feeling heavy and weak, but there’s no pain. How do you know if you’re having Afib? I’m waiting to see my Consultant about this and have an ECG booked. Thanks for any thoughts.
