How long should you wait before trying to conceive again after pre-eclampsia?

Hi I don't know a definate answer however just wanted to say that alot of hospitals will see you after your birth to ask about the pre-eclampsia, read through your notes with you, ask about what will happen in future pregnancies with potentially being high risk etc. We found this really useful.

We are still waiting for that appointment to come through. We phoned the hospital this week and they said it is at least 6 weeks after delivery until they get the post-mortem results so I hope to hear about an appointment within the next 2 weeks.

I don't think there is any specifc time limit but if you still have lasting health issues such as residual high blood pressure then it is best to wait until that is sorted out. I too went for a pre getting pregnant again assessment to help us make an informed decision about what the risks were likely to be the 2nd time around.

I was told by my GP to wait 6 months afterwards.
