Why are there no social meetups for people like us? It seems like we are all looking for something that makes us feel normal or not alone.

I'm in East London and would very much be happy to do some weekly outing, a night of movies or anything to get us to break a cycle, feel involved and just get out. 😊🤗

That's a really good idea why don't you try to form a group you would need to make a notice or poster and maybe ask a church if you could use their hall for a couple of hours every other week I really hope you have a go like you said you are left to your own devices with no support you could call it ED survivor group

you could include men as well maybe even carers and family of people with EDs

expect some resistance though bc they like to control stuff like that they don't like people branching out on their own albeit it's not against the law and what do they expect when you have no support

Good idea. I'd probably have to pay for a hall though. Who would try to block it? Drs?

I've never tried to hire a church hall so I don't know how much it would cost, you could organise a meet up in a cafe or a pub or something if it was summer you could meet up in a public garden - you could invite speakers with experience and insight to the events

Doctors wouldn't come and block it but if it took off and was successful people would turn up to keep an eye on things - but like I said it is perfectly legal and those wanting to turn up are not a government body but a shadowy controlling entity sorry if that sounds mysterious

Hahaha. I'm alive but not living, this is my life and it's isolating. So your daughter has an ed?

She did have anorexia she doesn't have active anorexia now aside from residual stuff - AN leaves it mark - but essentially the anorexia demon has left the building

That’s a great idea. I think that there will unfortunately be some resistance. I tried to form a group once, purely for support and empathy reasons, just to resonate with each other, but my team shut it down because they got paranoid that it was a pro-ana group.
