So basically I know excecise during recovery is generally bad as it can continue ed thoughts and exercise can be fine this idea of “burning off calories , however excerise makes me feel happy not because I get to burn calories but because I love playing sport and it generally gets me thinking clearer and feeling better about myself and my gaining body but the problem is the season starts back in 5 days time and I don’t feel I am ready I am 2kg (around 4lb ) off my minimum healthy weight , but if I miss the beginning of the season I can’t join back later as teams will be picked I will have missed fitness training also and will be lagging behind , any suggestions or personal experience would be greatly appricated ??

My personal beliefs on this is don’t stop doing what makes you happy. The amount of calories a body expends in a day is about 80% function and 20% excercise which is why they say loosing weigh begins in the kitchen not in the gym !

Thank you so much yes that is so true and really makes sence really appricate all the help xx

Are you getting help during your recovery - if so suggest you talk it through with them. 2kg off target is not too bad - but increasing exercise is going to demand more calories to maintain your weight - so do think on that - if you truly want to recover - you will need to increase your food intake. I understand how important the sport is to your well being - so it would be a shame to miss out - but may be recovery is more important this season - and perhaps you can reduce the amount of sport - rather than stop it altogether?
