Ingredient listed in this is "Triethyl... - Allergic to Glycols
Ingredient listed in this is "Triethylene Glycol" - is this similar to Propylene Glycol? Terrified! Anyone have info?
Oh my God. This will kill us. We had better send letters to the EPA.
Triethylene glycol is a poly (ethylene glycol) - PEG.
Triethylene glycol is a two carbon chain repeating (3 times) ether glycol. Propylene glycol is a three carbon chain glycol. They are different.
Trying to find glycol allergic folks in Tenn and Ga.
How can I help?
First, to ensure those with known allergies to glycols are aware of plans to disperse vaporized triethylene glycol through HVAC systems in Ga and Tenn as a virucide. Grignard Pure, the company making the solution, is teaming with multiple partners to implement this in dental offices, public transportation systems, and additional public venues. This was approved by the EPA on an emergency use basis. Childrens Health Defense is very concerned for two reasons; the high population percentage of people with anti PEG antibodies who may be put at risk, the additional chance of sensitizing even more people to PEG, a ubiquitous allergen in our environment and therefore difficult to avoid, and the lack of toxilogical studies for chronic inhalation exposure to nanoparticulate TEG. Also, CHD encourages at risk citizens to contact their representatives to voice their concerns. Lastly, identifying those at risk where this is being implemented might assist in legal filings.
