Some nights I don't sleep well. I'm taking Warfarin for AF. Has anyone taken Hypnozan tablets and Warfarin?

l think you need to ask the pharmacist on this one. I take warfarin and when l asked the pharmacist if l could take Kalms (same family) l was told a loud NO. I have asked re. several herbal supplements and always been told no. Try some warm almond milk before bed. I believe there has been some good reports on that. It contains tryptophan, melatonin and magnesium.

I'm on Warfarin and my GP prescribes the very lowest dose of Zopiclone. I've been taking it at night for many years. I went through years of hell when younger through not being able to sleep at night.

I used to take warfarin but now take apixaban. While on the warfarin, I took Zopiclone, and still do without any problems. Initially the dose was 7.5mg but I reduced that to 3.75mg and that gives me about 5 hours sleep 3 or 4 nights a week. Whilst not suiting everyone, 5 hours is enough for me.

Hi Benmaise.

As and when needed I take a small dose of Zolpidem. It's not for every night use but it's highly effective. It has a short half-life of around 2.5 hours so it won't keep you asleep all night - however, you don't tend to feel tired the next day. Take a dose about 20 minutes before bed and you'll be out like a light - 5mg should do the trick so cut a 10mg dose in half.

Zopiclone has a longer half-life and helps you stay asleep. It can take the body up to 12 hours to get rid of the 7mg dose so you may feel drowsy the next morning.

3.5 mg is a good starting point. Be warned though doctors are reluctant to prescribe it.

My doctor won't prescribe it now. I used to get Zolpidem. I bought these on Amazon. It's silly, really, as I should have checked with the pharmacist.

Hi Ben

It's best to check with a medic. My cardio said Zolpidem is ok to take with Afib (that's for me but we are all different). You can buy online but most of the tablets are fake and you don't know what's in them - don't touch 'em!
