Edoxaban missed dose

Good morning I am hoping someone can advise me please. I ordered my prescription well in advance and was supposed to collect yesterday. Unfortunately I had an episode of my paroxysmal AF and couldn't collect. I can get them tomorrow but my pharmacy is closed today. Does it matter that I miss one day? I am back in NSR since 6pm yesterday.

Hi, As people are often told to miss one for things like dental procedures I do not think that you should worry unduly. Of course I am not a Dr and do not know your full circumstances, All the Best, J

Years ago when my wife forgot her handbag (with her Asthma medication in it) in work when we were going away for a long weekend over a bank holiday we went to a hospital and asked to be prescribed the medication there. I suppose - you would have to start with A+E these days as hospital pharmacies may also be closed on bank holidays or on reduced hours nowadays and I doubt one missed dose will have a great effect as we often miss more than one dose for operations etc that is something to bear in mind when something like this happens. I would take it easy today - with the weather here - frequent heavy sleet showers and almost gale force winds we are not going anywhere so if I were you I would settle down with a good book - or whatever you like to do and have an easy day until you can collect your medication tomorrow. I very nearly did the same thing as usually request my repeat prescription more than a week before I run out but didn't do it until Monday and i was about to run out today! We knew we were not going to be able to call there on Thursday to collect and luckily the pharmacy got them for me by late Wednesday. Such lousy weather here my wife has started her spring cleaning - been talking about it for weeks but we have had visitors and looked after other people's dogs and such like and thankfully now have two weeks to get on top of the house work again and do all those extra bits again. What an exciting way to spend Easter! Though I have had worse one year when my back locked out and I couldn't stand or walk at all so wife got me to clean out the bottom cupboards in the kitchen - she's so understanding and always manages to turn things to her advantage! :)

If you ring 111 they will be able to help and get you an emergency prescription at an on call pharmacy near you.

No worry. Just carry on with usual dose next day . Don't bother with emergency services. Phil
