Some useful general tips, but the "no caffeine" rule has been debunked lately by many doctors, not that it might not be an individual trigger.

Hmm if I had the very strong caffeine content bullet proof coffee now sold, I would have af fib . Really . If I have full strength coffee chain , or 3 per day , I will get af fib that night . I do take magnesium full strength tablets to quell it , so that might be helping to lessen . If I have a full strength Capp or late or an expresso , my heart would hammer . I believe individuals are have different sensitivities . Moderation maybe ?

I agree. A Starbucks Grande Soy Latte put me in afib, five minutes after walking out of my ep's office where my ekg was normal :) Since then, just weakish coffee. I just wanted to correct the article and point out that current thought is that caffeine is not generally contraindicated with afib, but yes, we are all different.

I refuse to cut it out , my only ‘drug’ . I only really like Costa Chain Late blend , I have 1 1/2 shots at request of Barista . Full 2 shots - affib . Costa instant at home 2-3 teaspoons big cup - no problem . Even 2 per day OK . Full strength artisan would probably give me a heart attack 😂. ( I read it’s good for blood flow , so I will go with that )

You are welcome . I should have added avoiding stress to that list , that triggers Af fib.

No caffeine after 1pm used to be my rule but I am now changing that slowly as I find packing too much into mornings means I get too much of a energy contrast in the afternoons which some days can cause a pre-Af type feeling.

In summary I find moderation and consistency is best in my case.

I always have De Caff tea and coffee, After trying all brands of decaff, I ‘ve found my favourites and stick with them. I have Decaff lattes when I go to out to cafes and restaurants.Dare not have ordinary tea and coffee now. Most places do decaff now.

What is your fav brand Decaff coffee ? After starting BP Meds , I can have a weakish NON Normal Decaff Costa instant at home or in cafe if not full strength , mornings and one in cafe , but I ask Barista for 1 1/2 shots coffee not 2 . 1 too weak to taste . Don’t like any other coffee chain brands taste , personally . ( The blend of beans I guess ) At night Carte Noir instant Decaff is best Decaff instant taste I personally have tried . Fussy . It’s all I have left , I can’t give that up. No booze , sex drugs or rock and roll . All stopped . Memories only . ( and a weak immune haha )

Didn’t know if we were allowed to say, but tea is Yorkshire decaff and coffee is Nescafe decaff Gold Blend, I also take nescafe gold cappuccino sachets in my handbag, in case I can’t get decaff when out somewhere. They’ll often put some hot water in a cup for me.

Love the bit at the end. Oh for the days of our youth again.!!
