I was diagnosed in 2020, tha year my husband passed, other HF. 45ef. the next year echo showed 55-60ef. I have had three ablations for afib, flutter, l also have some tachacardias which started when I was in my 20s. getting up to 220 for years I was told depression and anxiety. I’m 71. ablations did not work 6 months ago I was told by my cardio that I did not have HF. I did not act like some one with Hf. I’ve been on several meds now to keep my heart rate normal and I am also in perm afib, mostly flutter my heart is mostly in the low 70s. my heart is enlarged and stiff on one side? I blame that on the ablations and afib. I have artheritus in my low back and hips. well lots of places which causes me pain and breathlessness on excersize can’t walk a lot. i’m also obese. my question is I didn’t think HF went away. sorry so long. I forgot to ask him why I was led to believe HF for three years. any comments appreciated.

Heart failure gone
Heart failure is usually diganaose by two things I believe. BNP ( a heart enzyme ) in the blood and ejection fraction below 50. (I understand that DVLA revoke driving license below 40). I could be wrong but why not?
I am in H/F and was in perm.a/f but the increase in drugs put that right and I am now in sinus. As far as I know I am still in H/F and somedays still get breathless due I guess to fluid retention, although I now do take a diuretic. I was told that yes, you can come out of H/F and as it has now been 4 months since diagnosis I am hoping that this happens. I had one unsuccessful ablation in 2015 and refused anymore, I then had a Pacemaker fitted, last year broke my hip and after full replacement have had problems with one thing and another and I think this was what put me into perm a/f, certainly seemed the start of my problems lol, no more table tennis for me......
