Ican only take half the amount of what I should be taking 250 mg instead of 500mg. Dr said it is better to have a shorter life and go round feeling alright than feeling ill . Is anyone out there has the same experience?

Bisoperal
Hoping that’s a typo and you mean 2.5mg and not 250 mg !
Yes I am prescribed 2.5 but only take 1.25 though occasionally take an extra if I need it.
I couldn’t take 5mg at once as it made me light headed too. The solution was to take half in the morning and half at night. Have you tried this? I’m fine with it
Bisoperal
1.25 extra was too much and it made me light headed. I am hoping there is a tablet that won’t affect me ,which is why I am going to another hospital for a second option ..waste of time I think. Tried 2 other tablets more useless
I take 1.25mg. It's a safe beta-blocker drug for most peoplehat stops the heart racing and can, by doing that, stop AF in its tracks. Some people are more sensitive to this drug and 2.5mg (which you take) can be as strong as, say, 5mg in another person, The heart is a very individual organ and drugs are sometimes metabolised differently by the liver (another rather individual organ at times).

I’ve had terrible side effects and have now developed neuropathy in my feet which is so difficult to deal with. It really gets me down, started about 4 months after beginning the BISOPROLOL. I’ve been off it for 2 weeks and hoping against all hope that it stops. Even when I was down to .625 it was having a corrective effect on my heart rate which amazed me.
A shorter life? Whatever does your Dr mean!
While I agree with the comment I think it's dreadful for a doctor to say that and do nothing about it. If the side effects make you feel so bad, why doesn't he change yoru medication?
Bisoperal
Tried 2 others, difficult to find meds that agree with me,low dose of bisoperal is the best so far
I'm the same with tablets. My GP groans when I have to discuss medication and greets me with "Hello trouble". I was just given diltiazem for an erratic heart beat and next day covered in a rash. For most things I can only take the branded ones not the generics. It's a problem with either colourings or one of the fillers/ preservatives they use in the generic ones. It may be worth trying to get the branded version although bisopralol just leaves me like a zombie whatever brand I get. Heart rate is fine but it drops my BP far too low. Have you tried splitting the dose morning and night? It sounds as if you've tried everything.
I'm hoping you're missing a decimal point in the dosage. I was on Bisoprolol for 3 months and it was horrendous. Really struggled with my breathing as it attaches to receptors in the lungs as well as the heart. Swapped over to Diltiazem and instantly better.
Hi
Um.
You need to put the point in Overeating.
It would be 2.5 or 5.0. 10mg is tops.
Fancy saying that you are better to have a shorter QOL life than struggle.
My private H/Specialist introduced CCB Dilriazem reduced to 120mg AM and low Bisoprolol to 2.5 PM from 10mg which did not take down my rapid persistent AF.

My Bisoprolol dose was increased to 2.5mg 6 months ago and I noticed no difference. When in sinus rhythm my pulse is quite low but I have no side effects from it and in afib my pulse stays under 75 so to me it's a great drug.
