To expand a little - big food fattens us up with excessive (and addictive) sugar, salt, artificial additives etc. providing such a fertile inflammatory landscape for all kinds of chronic illnesses with big pharma then cashing in massively at the other end treating the symptoms of all these illnesses/conditions. The NHS is left struggling and floundering in the middle having an almost impossible uphill struggle trying to deal with all of this disease the majority of which could have been avoided in the first place. I'm not blaming individuals here (I have a weakness for pizza myself!), but I do genuinely despair every time I look at what's in most people's supermarket trolleys. People need encouragement and information to help them do the right thing rather than being bombarded with multi-coloured advertising and flavour enhancers setting them in entirely the wrong direction.

Rant over !

100 likes! Pharma is also actively working to try and limit the availability of supplements that might help to limit the damages a poor diet is causing. There are moves afoot to try and make some supplements prescription only so they can get their fingers in the supplement pie.
