As an now older athlete reading this written in easy to understand book was both informative and disconcerting.... Recommend to anyone who want to understand their AF and how th heart works.

Heard of it. Haven't read it. What is "disconcerting"? I thought that he wasn't at all against exercise, just the kind of long distance training such as with marathons and multi-hour bike rides, etc.
If I remember clearly he's against eyeballs out long hard training, not long slow distance stuff or even short hard stuff. Most of his case studies were pretty extreme athletes.xx
I found it pretty disconcerting. What many people find extreme, athletes in training find normal. What annoys me is that I haven’t come across an endurance training book yet that warns what to look out for in terms of skipped beats for example, that might be a warning of worse to come.
I am still looking for guidance on what is too much exercise. I will gladly modify my routine to prevent recurring issues with AFib. Just had my catheter ablation, so still have some time to figure this out, trying to avoid getting back into afib. I guess I need to back off a bit from what I have been doing (8-10 hours training per week, plus 6-8 hour events in hot weather). I’m hoping if I drop the major events that I can continue with the training and just do shorter, more social events.
