Diggy is waiting for Santa. This is his first Christmas. He has kept me from falling several times and knows before I do when I might fall❤️

Dogs can be so helpful giving advance warnings and looking after people. My friend has one that warns her when she's about to have a seizure so she can get in a safe place or get help.

from day one with me he has always gone to my left side. Funny thing is I am a righty however the left side is my weak one because of the back injury anyway I tend to fall sideways that way if I am going down. They are amazing and you can’t make this stuff up. He is my very first dog and always surprising me with his intuition.

They are vastly underrated in their ability to diagnose and help. I know someone whose dog diagnosed her beast cancer by constantly sniffing at it and another who keeps an eye on her diabetes and tells her when she needs to eat. If only more people would listen to them or know how to understand them. Their abilities are only just starting to be recognised in medicine, security, customs, as drug detectors et c.

dogs are used for a variety of things here in the states. The sheriffs department I worked for actually has a Department now of therapy dogs. They are extremely useful when someone has been traumatized whether a child or an adult. I have heard about the cancer sniffing dogs for quite awhile. Many people who have support dogs of their own whether they are emotional or otherwise are allowed To have their dog certified so that they may become volunteers at hospitals. The days of bomb or a drug sniffing has been greatly approved these days. I know a group that actually trains dogs rescued from shelters. They are then donated it to police departments. It’s a win-win, dogs are saved from being killed and law enforcement gets extra help for some thing when they might not have it because of cost. It’s amazing.

Thank you for sharing Diggy's picture; he's adorable! My dog would never make it as a service dog, but she brightens my each and every day 🙂 She's a rescue Boston terrier. Take care of yourselves, and try and stay warm. I wish I could send you some of our warm AZ weather 🤗

I wish you could send some warm weather as well thankfully it is coming by the end of the week it should be 70. Diggy is certified but there are times I do not take him places. He also was a rescue he is my service dog at home but as you know rescues have their quirks and Diggy has his. I live in the type of environment that I do not have need for him to interact with many people. That is a plus. He is my baby and does what I need that’s all I care about. We could’ve gone further with training I do not wish to do that to him. We need them and they need our love that’s what counts
