For my ablation I guess I had medium to deep sedation. I went off to sleep till nearly the end. For my hip operation it was deep and there seemed no difference between that and a general anaesthetic.
For my second hip operation next month the anaesthetist said I might wake up. I'm glad she told me that because, if I do wake up I would have been most alarmed.
Hi Physalis. I think the difference is in the speed of recovery. It sounds like you should recover faster from any version of sedation Vs GA. Best Wishes, moreover, for your hip operation next month though. Fingers crossed for you.
For most people I understand that you recover faster with sedation. But for me it’s the other way around.!!! I feel terrible after sedation and it takes me ages to recover but with general anaesthetic I’m ok quite quickly which is good because you can give G/A any day over sedation.👍
