I had the myocardial perfusion test back in July to rule out coronary artery problems causing my episodes of breathlessness. Promised the results in 2 weeks but have only just had them following numerous ephone calls to various departments at the heart institute.
I have not been told the test was 'positive' but what does that mean? I have now been put on the long waiting list for angiogram. As far as my atrial flutter is concerned it was agreed with the consultant not to have another ablation now as although the flutter is present I am symptom free and keeping well on medication.
My issue is what do I declare for travel insurance purposes ( I have already informed them of the flutter and list of medications). It looks as though it could be a considerable period before I have the angiogram.

I can only assume that the MPT was done so as not to delay whilst waiting for the angiogram since both are suppposed to investigate the same thing? I do think that angiogram may be slightly more detailed though.
Since you are awaiting tests you must declare this on your insurance proposal or you will not be insured. They may well refuse cover for any related medical occurrence so best to check.
Thanks Bob. There was no mention of an angiogram until they had the MPT results so I guess it is to look at things in more detail. It is frustrating not knowing how long it might be before I get it done but I take your point about letting my insurers know. At the moment my diagnosis is atrial flutter but there may be more to discover! Hope you are keeping well.
Agree with BobD. Do let your insurer know that you are awaiting an angiogram or any other appointments. Personally, I wouldn't want to give insurers an excuse not to pay a claim should you need to.
