Hi, I had a stroke 11 years ago. Initially I was put on 10mg Bisoprolol a day, which 8 years later was reduced to 5mg a day. I have had the odd occasion of bloating, where before I eat a meal I feel full. But these incidents are very rare, perhaps two a year. Otherwise this medication has been very good for me
I've had tiredness, and stomach acid reflux since starting apixaban (Eliquis). From what I've read all the blood thinners cause about the same amount and kind of side effects. Hoping to do a procedure that gets me off of blood thinners as soon as possible! Lariat or Watchman.
I have commented on this on another thread, so apologies for repetition, yes I’m beginning to think Apixaban may be causing me stomach issues. I’ve been on it since 2019 along with Bisoprolol 2.5mg. Always had a few waves of mild nausea. Came off apixaban during a month long hospital stay and had heparin injections instead. Went back on apixaban once home and have felt almost constant nausea/stiff bloated feeling periodically in upper stomach area since. GP says not to do with apixaban, pharmacist in huge branch of well known chemist said she gets complaints about stomach issues from people on apixaban nearly everyday. So who knows??? The stroke protection element of apixaban is enough to keep me taking it, but I may ask to swap to a different anticoagulant if stomach issues persist. However, you haven’t been on it for long so maybe this side effect will gradually wear off after a couple of months? I wish you well and this is such an excellent forum for help and advice
