I think you can. Do you sleep well? I don't and put my lack of energy down to that. Have you had an echocardiogram to check that the left ventricle and valve are doing their work and getting enough oxygenated blood around your organs and body?

When I had a reduced ejection fraction from my atrial flutter and tachycardia, that really knocked me back energy-wise, even though it wasn't especially poor (I think it dropped from just over 50% to 45%). I've read that some people are especially sensitive to this, whereas others can be unaffected even with quite a low heart output.

Yes, because you can have AF without noticing. I had a holter for a week, was disappointed I didn’t have an episode of AF but the report said I had frequent AF! When you get your PM report it should tell you. Your PM (unless a fancy one) will only stop your heart going too slow. Or, as the previous reply said, your heart may be a bit tired 🥱

Hi You hav my sympathy.

First have thyroid tests. My thyroid cancer caused fatigue etc no energy etc. Gave mea stroke because of A.F. Atrial Fibrillation.

Now at 2 years down track even Heart Specialist didnt help with the energy but knew heart was irregular and working too fast.

A Locum asked me to attend a private cardiac specialist.

Last Thursday he added a Calcium Channell Block to my 2nd drug betta block Bisoprolol. Metoprolol is now banned for me. Breathless, tired and horrid.

On Thursday given 180mg Diltiazem A calcium Channel Blocker.

He said add the above once per day.

On Saturday prepared I stopped .2.5mg Bispprolol at night and morning took only 10mg with new capsule Diltiazem 1 hour prior in morning with glass water and food.

I felt lightheaded as I walked up elevated pathway.

Sunday

I missed 2.5mg evening prior and took 7.5mg Bisoprolol in mrning but before 1 hour took the 180mg (1/2 dose of Diltiazem with water and food.

Too much.. At 11am I felt too dizzy to walk up road or go for a drive.

60s pulse became 50s and down to 51!

I rung Healthline. Later a registered nurse rang. I told her and packed my bag for hospital.

She conversed with a Dr,

I stayed at 51! Dr said take 2.5mg Bisoprolol am and the Diltiazem 180mg am separate times.

I am fine today Monday.

The walk with carer to shops felt at last easy.

I believe I am at last cured on pills of my A.F.

Try carefully Calcium Channel Blockers! Take care.

Be carefully. It was scary.

I had heart rate up to 186 on Metoprolol ad 156 on Bisoprolol

but

60-70 on 2.5 Bisoprolol and 180 Diltiazem! Hooray. Loss of energy is due to rapid heart beat.

cheers JOY. NZ
