People with diabetes tend to experience itchy skin more often than those without the condition. Persistent itching can be uncomfortable and might lead to excessive scratching, which can cause infection, discomfort, and pain.

Itching is often a symptom of diabetic polyneuropathy, which is a condition that develops when diabetes leads to nerve damage. Certain skin conditions that develop as a result of diabetes may also cause itchy skin.

A person with diabetes should not ignore itchy skin. Dry, irritated, or itchy skin is more likely to become infected, and people with diabetes may not be able to fight off infections as successfully as those who do not have the condition.

I would strongly advise you to speak to your GP.

You poor thing, that must be maddening. I guess that you're not using a different washing powder, or a different soap in the bathroom? Have you had a vaccine so that you don't get covid again? I've read that the Astra Zeneca one can cause an itchy rash. How long have you had the itching? Did it start during or right after having the covid virus?

What medications are you taking?

Let's hope that we can help you in some way.
