It depends what device you're using. On my PC they're to the right of a post under the Pinned Posts heading. On my phone I click on Home, go into Pinned Posts and scroll down to Abbreviations and Acronyms.

just a curious question for US forum members , why is it E"K"G for cardiogram not ECG? I know we are "two nations divided by a common language" but would be interested to know where the K came from

I often wondered about that too and came to the conclusion that it might be to differentiate in a busy and noisy setting between EEG and ECG which sound very similar. Just a thought . . .

Just googled it out of curiosity. No explanation that I can find as to why there is a difference but EKG stands for the German 'elektrokardiographie'

Hugo, I remember the feeling well. When I joined the forum I used to have two windows open, one for the forum and one for Google - like translating a foreign language. Baba's link should help.
