The final chance to have your say!

The NHS NICE guidelines regarding the diagnosis and management of Atrial fibrillation (AF) are set to change. Now is the final chance to have a say on how your treatment and care will look for the next several years. It's essential that patients thoughts are taken into account, so if you have five minutes we urge you to make your voices heard. It takes just five minutes and will enable us to represent you during the consultation process.

There is nothing in the survey about diagnosis or management of AF. Just a few questions about DOAC's.

Did I miss the rest?

I got same, just a few questions about Apixaban etc.

An interesting survey on the use and choice of anticoagulants. In relation to DOACs, which I understand are Direct Oral AntiCoagulants I've often wondered if there are Indirect Oral AntiCoagulants as well as Direct ones.

People this is really really important as it is potentially taking away choice.

Make sure to say that changes to meds should only be done with consultation and agreement of patient!

Oh I laughed at this,

Offer cardioversion after 48 hours if other treatment does not work. I waited 5.5 weeks both times!

After 4 weeks offer other treatment, as far as my ULCD (useless local cardiology dept) know I am still waiting for a cardioversion after 7 months.

Take anticoags for 3 weeks, ulcd told me six!

This is all well and good in theory, but it has to be followed in practice too!

I’ve filled it in but as I’m on Rivaroxaban and happy with it I was wondering if this was a price led decision or an evidence based one. I really don’t know the main differences between the NOAC s.
