Can I just ask for the people on here who take this drug what are your doses?
And are they spread throughout the day?

The dose I was prescribed was 12.5 mg 2x daily. And my cardiologist told me (when I said I didn't want to do it daily), that if I am using it as pill-in-the-pocket to take 25 mg at outset of afib, then 25 mg an hour later if it is still going on. He assured me it would make me feel better during an episode. In fact, it makes me feel much worse. I have tried it several times on that PIP basis. And for a while I was taking the lower dose on a daily basis. I am not currently taking it.
My Metoprolol dose is the same as Kim's. I take 12.5mg 2 x daily, alongside 1 x 100mg Flec in the morning and 1 x 50mg Flec at night.

Have you tried a Pill Cutter from the chemist? They are like a small hinged box. You wedge the tablet in one half, and there's a sharp razor inside the other half which you close over the tablet and it cuts it neatly. Better than snapping it by hand.
With a pill cutter.
I take 25 mg 3 x daily - usually 8am, 1.30pm and 7pm. I take an extra 25 mg if I have an AF episode (which fortunately is rare since ablations) to assist in reducing the heart rate.
As far as I’m aware it’s a rate and blood pressure control drug - pretty confident that there are other drugs more suitable for PIP and restoring sinus rhythm eg flecainide, which I’ve never used.
I am on 50mg x3 times a day
Presumably, though I’ve never actually asked! The prescription is for 3x daily (has been for years) and not to stop taking it without medical advice.
My resting heart rate is 54 - 64 and averages about 80 on a steady walk of about half an hour which I try to get in most days - except in this heat😃!
I take 37.5 every AM/PM. Total 75 mg daily. And yes, they’re difficult to cut in half to get the same amount in each dose.
My heart doctor just recently increased my metoprolol from 25mg 2 times a day to 50mg 2 times a day unless my BP is 100 or less. Then go back to 25mg just for that dose. Change is because my heart rate was increasing to 160 beats per minute causing tachycardia. I have a pacemaker. Also my BP was going up when I had the tachycardia. Having my pacemaker checked in 2 days.
Metoprolol has two version; the regular that most likely is prescribed for twice a day or the extended release version (i.e. Metoprolol ER, Toprol XL..) that is supposed to give you coverage for 24 hrs. It can be a medicine that your body needs to adjust to.
I take 12.5 mg twice a day.
12.5mg once a day. I get it from the Veteran's Administration. To save costs, I have to split a 25mg tab. I am asymptomatic, and I'm AFIB about 20% of the time (but never feel it).
I started on this drug around 30 yrs of age for BP control 100 mg slow release. ....now 30 yrs later i’m Down to 25 mg twice daily for BP control and afib was on 50 mg daily split it for afib control..I also take Atacand 4 mg at night for BP..
