Coronavirus: Hi just wondered if anyone... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Coronavirus
I am assuming you are anxious? Please - find a way of easing your anxieties because worry and anxiety really is similar to rubbing salt into an open wound - it physically hurts you.
I haven’t had COVID but a very good friend of mine who is in permanent AF has. She was quite ill with a fever for several weeks but not hospitalised. She has just recovered, still in AF which was no worse nor no better whilst she was ill. She is 70+ but very fit and healthy apart from the AF for which she takes no medication other than PIP beta-blocker very occasionally to control high HR when she exercises too hard.
I think it really helps if you are as fit as you can be and also to have good daily practice of meditation to counter anxieties and stop watching the news and thinking about all the bad stuff - which will stress your body and lower your natural immune response. If that isn’t a good enough reason to address your anxiety I don’t know what is.
Please people address your anxieties -that will help you more than any other measure you can take.
I think I have had it.
I posted on it a few weeks ago here;

I’m fully recovered with no disruption to my heartbeat. Having a propensity to arrhythmia did concern me but made no difference at all.
It is a worry but that’s just normal.
It’s the worry of the unknown making us do the right thing by staying at home.

Though I was never tested, I developed ectopic beats during my isolation period. I wrote a post on it so I won't duplicate it here. I needed a bit of extra time (currently a week into the extended 2 weeks suggested by my GP) to work back up to full fitness before going into battle against COVID-19 myself.
Both my husband and myself think we have had Covid19. Have recovered now and no difference to my heart rate.
