I have an appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow. His office is in the main hospital. I wish I hadn't said I would keep the appointment, but I really want to get assessed. Tough decision when the heart's concerned.
Has anyone else had cardio appointments lately? I'm praying for all of you.

Hello. I have a follow up appointment with my Consultant tomorrow but rather than attend the hospital it will be a phone consultation. I have to say that I do have mixed feelings about that as I won't get the usual ECG, blood pressure and other tests but at least I will be safe at home. Is it too late to contact your Consultant to see whether they can offer the same?
If you really don't feel up to it the you should cancel especially if you are in the vulnerable category.
A bit late now, but it might help to give you peace of mind if you can find out if the location is remote from anywhere near from where they might be treating Coronavirus patients. Maintain social distancing at all times, wear protective gloves and make sure you don’t touch your face until you have been able to carefully remove the gloves and thoroughly washed your hands....good luck
I have nurse coming in for my warfarin blood test and I have been worried since they phoned. How I wish they would let me stay on apixaban but GP says contradiction with ine of my other tablets. I did ask about precautions as she will beclose and would have visited other people before me. I was told she would wear a mask but what about that rubber strip that she ties tight around my arm before the needle goes in.
Think I will set up a table at the door and leave the foor open.
Well, I went to the cardiologist office today. The office had just 2 other patients. I did feel okay there. Angela and the doctor took all the precautions.
I also got some good news about my heart! Evidently, the stay-at-home order I'm under here in California has done me a lot of good. Doctor said it was the best test results he had seen for me in a long time. So I don't have to go back for a few months.
There's a Covid-19 test station across the street from where I live. I just might call my Primary Care doctor to see if he can schedule me for one next week, just to be safe.
Thanks everyone! I appreciate you listening to me and giving me some great feedback.
I’ve just been to booked in for a cardioversion at Papworth at the beginning of June. It also involves me going for 5 weekly INR tests at my doctors. The nurse explained all the precautions they are taking and they seem to have everything covered. Hospitals and doctors surgeries have designated clean areas which don’t have any association with Covid-19. I think if your cardiologist thought a phone appointment would suffice he would have asked for one.
I agree, Linda. Once I saw the doctor face to face, I felt that typical confidence in him that I normally feel. Yes, I was scared to go, but I trust him very much. I'm glad I did. It still nags the back of my mind a little, but it was worth the risk to get the good news about my heart, at least for now.
