Anti co-ag machine

The Anti-coag nurse has just phoned and we agreed to delay next week's visit for 2 weeks. I queried if I bought my own machine, would that be o.k. in the current climate. She agreed and said she would teach me how to use it and then would write to my GP to have strips supplied.

I know this has been asked many times before but now I need to study the answers.... which one should I buy and where should I buy it please.

Looks like they have been very busy. I found one and it said "not available". Cant say if or when we will have this. Tried others and similar response. I will keep trying.

Maybe someone on this site may have one they don’t need anymore if they are taking Apixaban etc.

Go direct to the company that makes them, their customer service are brilliant and ship products very quickly. The company is called Roche and found easily on a web search. The Coaguchek xs is perfect for home use snd very easy to use. It cost about £200 and the testing strips are about £40 for 20. Hope this helps.

I replied below to another forum member just a week ago.

If your funds can stretch to a Coaguchek, I would thoroughly recommend one. At the best of times it set me free, never mind now. I bought direct from Roche. I have checked and although those are available elsewhere from other suppliers and online pharmacies can be considerably more expensive. No VAT is charged if you are a warfarin user.

Unfortunately the link which I originally gave is no longer working on their website. Roche has taken the option to purchase the unit off, so I assume they have been inundated with orders and supplies aren't meeting demands. Other suppliers (who charge a lot more) have no stocks either. The only ones I can find for sale are two on EBay, auction not finished and £360 and £410 (second-hand).

The new price direct from Roche is £299. Might be worth giving them a ring to find out when they expect supplies. Their number is 0808 100 7666 (UK).

Hidden was thinking of selling hers.

Best of luck in these difficult times.

Thank you very much. I will ring them on Monday. I still have the coagnurse visiting at the moment but am very apprehensive as she does so many home visits each day.

If you have not been able to purchase a Roche Coagucheck, I might consider selling mine, as I am now on Edoxaban. I would want £300 plus postage and insurance

Shame on you. New from Roche £299 including postage. I am really disturbed by your post.

Why? I’m only asking for what I paid. It’s almost brand new and if you can’t buy one elsewhere, then what is your problem?

It's not my problem, it's yours. This is not a marketplace. This is a forum where members, too many to mention, give huge amounts of unpaid time, effort and comfort to AFib sufferers including you. Not for a minute would I criticise you for recovering some of your purchase costs. But not here, don't openly hawk a second-hand item with no guarantee for full price when other members are desperate for a solution.
