The roads are definitely quieter. Food is a problem and queues are getting longer. Rationing is already here. People are looking at their gardens and are beginning to grow their own. Travel is restricted and going abroad is simply not on. The football league is cancelled along with most other sports. I go nowhere without my mask. We await the six o’clock news with trepidation. Where will the enemy strike next? How many new deaths will be reported? What is happening today in Italy, Germany and elsewhere? What about the brave men and women on the front line protecting us. Are they being fully supplied and backed up? What will the Prime Minister find to encourage us with today. Schools are closed and likely to stay shut for some while. But their is a growing community spirit and a desire to look after the vulnerable.

Familiar? Well this was Liverpool at the beginning of the WW2.

I was 6 at the time. How thing come full circle. But we got through and we will again. Stick together and ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’!

OK, I know this is not about our shared illness but maybe it could be more important than that just occasionally.

Thank you. I had tears in my eyes while reading this. You are right, we are all too used to feeling safe. I will never take anything for granted again. X

Hi EricW My daughter has set in motion a plan for obtain supplies should the local super market run out. She has googled all grocery stores with in a 3 mile radius, noted their phone number and location and marked them on a map. So if she goes to a store and its sold out she looks at her map for the next nearest grocery store and calls them to check is the items she wants are in stock. This system is a gem. She is now avoiding super markets as small grocery stores are not so crowded. Keep well
