I am on Apixaban, I sometimes get an itchy scalp at night when trying to sleep, don't know if it's the tablets though.

I did to start with & noticed a little more hair coming out in my brush, but it only lasted a few weeks.

Hi. how strange as I was about to pose the same question although I am on Rivaroxaban. have been for a few years and have noticed an itchy scalp - more at night than any other time. Had excema as a child in the nape of neck and wondered if there was some connection. just another little annoyance!

I'm on warfarin and notice a very itchy scalp but didn't notice it when I was on apixaban. I use the gentlest shampoo but no difference. I also have a good scratch first thing in the morning.

My daughter is on Apixiban and is constantly complaining about her itchy scalp, in particular from the back neckline to half-way up her head.

I have just started with some itching and it is mainly lower down and near my ears. I have been on Apixaban 9 months. Also hair does seem to have thinned a bit too.

I have had an itchy scalp recently and wondered whether it was because digoxin has been added to my existing meds recently. I also take Riveroxaban, Carvedilol, Fuorsemide, Spironolactone and Candesartan for AF and CHF plus Amatriptilyne and paracetamol for pain control for PHN (post herpetic neuralgia pain) so hard to know what side effects belong to what but the itchy scalp did start after the digoxin was added in November following a CRT-p implant. My scalp itches on top and at the base of my neck. Also my hair doesn’t look like it used to. It has always been quite fine but now looks a bit lifeless. I also have a runny nose and Reynaud’s disease in my hands because the meds are affecting my circulation. Off soon to spend Christmas with my family. Hope it goes OK. Festive greetings to all and grateful thanks for the support given on this forum. 2019 has been one of the worst years of my life due to health issues but this forum and others have helped to keep me going. I will be glad to see it go and can only hope that 2020 will be better for me and everyone,

Mine was in the small of my back, with nothing there to see or feel but an anoying itch. It lasted about six months or so, and then went away. I'm now 2-1/2 years in on Apixaban, and it seems to suit me OK. My only ongoing concern is blood in my nose tissues on cold days, only traces, no actual 'bleeds'..

Thanks. I have this issue with my nose too. Doctor has suggested I stop for a few days to see if there is a connection, as just starting with meds. May have to change to warfarin

Yes, itchy scalp and back since on apixiban. Maybe dry skin this time of year.

I have annoying itchy scalp all the time, worse in the evening. Who knows why. ?? In the past it's been in other places but its staying around on my head.
