Anyone have any experience with increased heart rate with poison ivy? My husband has poison ivy and is in permanent afib. His heart rate has been controlled to under 70 until he got poison ivy last week. The day he broke out he was shocked because his heart rate was too high. He has a defibrilator. Just seems wierd they happened together. Now his heart rate is ranging from 80-100 and sometimes 120's

Are you sure that he's not just anxious? Is he taking Benadryl or some antihistamine like substance. Those things can affect HR.
