How do you feel when you have these episodes? Is the rhythm suggestive of AF or is it regular? Supra ventricular tachycardias of whatever type, are not inevitably a problem if of short duration and not associated with significant symptoms.
How do you know what your rate is? Unless you can check your pulse and count very fast you are likely using some form of machine few of which are even vaguely accurate if you have AF. The bisoprolol should hold your rate down to reasonable levels which it obviously does.
Why not go to AF Association website and read all about this mongrel condition.
The problem is that we are all individuals and react to drugs slightly differently. So whats ok for me might not be for you! I have been on Ramapril, Bisoprol Fumerate and I am on Edoxaban , though I was on Apixiban for a few years. ( The change was done in my area purely as a cost cutting method I believe). My pulse stutters along from 65 to 190+ and unless I am hooked up to some form of monitor I cant really tell you what its at as it changes frequently. Still doing ok after a number of years of this. i tell you all this as a background to the advice I can give!
1. Our emotions and everything else effects our health in some way. So if your worrying about it consult your health practitioner of choice. Worry effects your health so get the info and reassurance you need as quickly as you can!
2. Keep a diary of your health, what you eat and do. See if you spot a pattern. Recently I found I was gluten intolerant, now a lot of the tiredness etc has gone. i feel better than i have for a few years, or longer. The diary helped by showing a pattern that lead to a doc suggesting testing for gluten intolerance. ( Did not wait on tests avoided gluten for a week, never went back to it!)
3. If in doubt check it out with health professionals who know your case history!
Thanks Charlie that’s helpful maybe I’m becoming fixated with pulse rates that are not that abnormal which leads to anxiety which increases the problem as you say
I will keep a diary and discuss it with my gp next time I see him I’m having fasting blood tests next week so he’ll probably get in touch then
