I was given this drug last Thursday at the hospital 50mg twice daily. I am now very breathless not counting other side effects. My surgery is of no help just said to contact the consultant secretary but she is not there. Can I reduce my dose?

Does your hospital have an arrhythmia nurse. It's often easier to get through to the EP via their arrhythmia nurse than the secretary. The nurse would then speak with your EP for advice regarding your symptoms.
You should not change your dose of medication without first checking with a member of your healthcare team. Meadfoot is right, perhaps a call to your arrhythmia nurse, or cardiology ward might get some results? Failing that, do you have an email address for your specialist direct? Perhaps you can email them for their advice.
Best wishes

Thank you for your help. I do not know if the hospital has an arrhythmia nurse. I think maybe it is the effect of the drug on my heart but as I am pacemaker dependent I can't tell. I am hoping this is right as it has settled down again. The breathlessness comes in waves so maybe it is the drug working on my heart in advance of my RF ablation. My EP will contact me tomorrow.
