Can bradycardia (45-51 beats per minute) cause chronic, persistent dizziness?

Thanks

Hi HH :-) bradycardia can cause dizziness but so can a number of other conditions so best to have a talk to your doctor about it.

Thanks Doodle. My Brady is very low, so I'm wondering if this can also cause ongoing, persistent dizziness?

Hi HH as doodle68 suggests, a Doctor is the best person to see as there are other conditions that could be the cause. It sometimes takes a little bit of investigation. For example, I still felt dizzy after having a pacemaker and in my case it was something as simple as I was not breathing properly and my posture had become out of alignment after several years of becoming unwell. I needed to re-train myself to breath slower and not from the top of the lungs and do exercises with my neck and shoulders and that did not entail any further medications at all :))

I hope you get a resolution to your symptoms soon.

Hi HH! In my opinion your bradycardia can cause dizziness, especially if your heart has pauses. I personally had terrible dizzy spells, because of pauses and my beta blocker bisoprolol was a big cause. The pacemaker made a difference, feel so much better. It didn’t cure the Afib, but I’m not as symptomatic. BUT as everybody says, there are other reasons for dizziness, so visit your doctor.

There are so many things that can cause dizziness so best see an EP and get to the root of this problem. Making assumptions is not such a good idea at this point and I urge you to seek help by calling for an appointment with whomever you can see first and ASAP. As long as you have no preferences. Also driving should be stopped as you could pass out. Hope to hear how you are doing. Best wishes, Sarah.
