Alternative treatment for lip herpes.

Hi everyone. I want to ask if anybody knows some cure for lip herpes or maybe angular cheilitis, will know tomorrow after consultation with dermo doc, besides creams with cortizon because those act as an afib trigger for me, CDreamer saved me the other time with the cream she proposed for another issue, if she happens to read this post and knows something I would appreciated her help, tried colloidal silver and tea tree oil with no success. Thank you all.

I used ZOVIRAX with no problems, it’s an OTC cream in many countries.

netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/i...

My GP prescribes Aciclovir tablets when I have persistent infections as I am immune suppressed. Hope that helps. How are you doing generally? x

Thank you but the pills are hard for me to take, my gut doesn't tolerate any chemical at all, thanks anyway.

I used zovirax too but it doesn't seem to work, it makes it worse actually, so I have appoinment with my doc this morning, see if it is something else, i sprayed it with colloidal silver and it seems to soothe it more. Generally I am well, done ultrasound and all the relevant tests yesterday, my heart is perfect, paroxysmal af not showing to have affect it at all, have normal blood pressure etc ,have small episodes once a month now in winter which my doc says are because of my emotional stress and the big air pollution problem we have here, I have no episodes in the summer, episode lasts less than two hours and subsides with a quarter of sotalol 80 mg pill, and the heart rate during the episode goes not higher than 85 which is good because I don't feel exhausted afterwards. So that's my news, hope things are going well for you and your husband, thank you for the help and wish you all the best.

Sounds like you have the AF under reasonable control. Best wishes CD.

PS - it’s only affective if you start treatment within 48 hours of first signs though.

Well, I hope this doesn't sound too weird to you guys, but you can clear herpes sores completely in just a couple days with zero drugs or chemicals. Somebody told me about this when I was in university, and it always works. On the very first sign of any sore starting (you can usually feel it starting the day before you can see it) get in the shower. Scrape the area hard with your teeth to like like open it up. Then blast the shower hard right on that area. It will hurt a bit, but the water is cleaning out the virus. (Close your eyes while doing this.) The next couple days try to do this at least twice a day. Scrape the sore open and blast the water on it, to clean out the virus. After 2 days the sore should be almost completely gone... but keep this up until it is. Do not put anything on the sore! You must keep it DRY and let it air. If you put any kind of ointment on it, it will lock the virus inside. If you can take an l-lysine supplement every day, it will help prevent any future sores from developing. This can also control herpes in your cat, let me know if anybody wants the details on that.

Thank you Goldey, it sounds pretty weird to do that and it might hurt a lot but I will try it next time, will take also lysin tablets, best.

That sounds horrible I will stick with the antivirals

Good luck with the cat! Risky while taking anticoagulants! Or do you skip the 'hard shower thing' where the cat's concerned?

Like the L-lysene idea. Thank you.

I don't really understand your comment -- the lysine is for the cat. Cats don't get sores from herpes, they get runny eyes and sneezes. The shower thing is for people who get lip sores and want to heal them without taking any chemicals or drugs.

I must have tried every cure there is for cold sores. The only one that has worked for me is to stop eating almonds. I was having a cold sore every 2 months then a year ago I stopped eating almonds and haven't had one since 🤞

Maybe, I am eating almonds everyday. thank you.

Hi Ornella. If you try it can you let me know how you get on please. A diet devoid of almonds has certainly improved my quality of life.

Hi there, I am on a low carb diet, so almonds is part of my breakfast with one banana and two brazilian nuts for selenium. if I quit eating it then my breakfast will be poorer and my energy for the day less. But I think I will lessen it a lot or stop eating it for some days because it also increases my weight and I must stay on 25 BMI , as this is crucial to keep af under control. Thank you for your interest, my herpes has subsided a lot now. keep well.

Have you tried Llysine? It's an amino acid that keeps the virus dormant and if people are lacking in it then it'll flare up. I have recommended it to many people with great success it works for shingles too. Good luck you can get it in any health shop take a high dose.

Your dermatologist will make a diagnosis and perhaps check for any evidence of immune suppression. Usually, labial h.simplex responds to acyclovir. Without treatment it is generally self limiting and will settle within a week. I would be interested to hear what the dermo says about goldey’s treatment., I would think that would risk spreading the virus. Our cat would leave home if we tried that. Or am I missing a wind up here?

Angular stomatitis is a very different beast.

btw, I am not a doctor.

Let's hope its a wind up

Hi, dermo said that I have mild angular cheilitis and on that grew a herpes also which made the whole situation worse, althought herpes seems to have subsided a lot today after bathing it with colloidal silver, he prescribed an antiseptic spray and and some antibiotic cream and then when the herpes clears out he said I would continue 4 days with an antifungal cream with mycostatin, for cheilitis, I have no fungus because I don't eat sugar... but let's see how it goes, I sure will buy lycin and take it too, as fog Goldey's treatment he said no way... Best wishes.

Ornells,

I used to have very bad rounds off herpes on the inside of my mouth. The colloidal silver worked for me, but you may not be applying it either enough as outside it dries up quickly and also the strength of the silver solution may be low. Something else which helps a lot like using colloidal silver for this type of ailment - hydrogen peroxide like you get at the drug store. Apply it on the sores multiple times a day. Stings I know, but the virus doesn't like it either. I even use it in my mouth a few times a month as a gargle which I feel helps kill off a lot of bacteria, and prevents the viruses from returning, Very rarely do I ever get a single sore now. (I don't swallow it!) Thank God!

Persevere! Good luck to you.

Thank you, will try hydrogen peroxide too, although the colloidal silver has made it shrunk a lot already, I applied it with a spray several times. Best wishes.

The only thing that worked really well for me was Geranium essential oil, preferably dabbed on at the first sign of itching. I also find Compeed herpes plasters very good.

ornella profile image
ornella in reply to paolina

I have both at home, geranium must be diluted or undiluted when I put it on? thank you, best.

Sorry I didn't see your reply till today. I usually use it undiluted - it hurts a bit!

Hi there

Cured angular cheillitis successfully several times with homeopathy.

This often occurs when "run down " in some way.

You could give Helios pharmacy a well known and respected establishment in Tonbridge Wells ( They also now have establishment /shop etc in London too) a ring as they have an excellent helpline of homeopaths who will advise if they can , free of charge. They will then send you the remedies if you decide to try them( A charge for remedies but not advise)

I actually have a homeopath I visit but have used Helios for advise from time to time over the last 25 years if homeopath unavailable.

Good luck and hope it helps if you decide to give them a call.

P.S. I live in Brighton just in case you are near by....I could give you my Homeopaths number if you wanted....

With good wishes

Sarah

Thank you Sarah for the info, someone here told me that homeopathy gives a solution to infections like that, I will try to call Helios, I live in Greece by the way, but can call and consult the pharmacy, thanks for the telephone numbers. And yes I am emotionally stressed that's why I have flare ups of herpes, never had cheilitis before, so I need to calm down first and all will become fine again. Thank you for the help and wish you all the best.

Hi, Ornella. My dental hygienist told me to use Vitamin E for angular cheilitis. Puncture a Vitamin E capsule with a sterilized pin or needle (I do it on one of the small ends), squeeze out some oil onto your finger and cover the cracked area a couple times per day. I did it after brushing my teeth. The puncture seems to seal up again after first use so you can use the same capsule at least twice. I like it a lot better than using pharmaceuticals and it worked great for me!

Thank you, I will try it, have some Vitamin E capsules, I don't like meds also but doc prescribed daktodor an antifungus cream, see how it goes, best wishes.

Hello ornella 🙂 my son used to have cold sores on his lips and got a lot of relief from applying crushed ice in a cloth.

Hi, for cold sores (lip herpes), zovirax antiviral ointment or cream can be really helpful. Makes a big difference for me. I take supplemental lysine as a preventive, and take extra when I'm getting an outbreak. Doesn't help everyone -- maybe just people whose lysine level is low? -- but does help me.

For angular cheilitis, it depends what the cause is. For me, it ended up being a riboflavin deficiency, so taking riboflavin (B2) cleared it up. That wouldn't help someone whose symptoms were caused by a different problem. my.clevelandclinic.org/heal...
