Hi all I’ve noticed a couple short runs of SVT this evening. I’ve had the stomach flu and have vomited a couple times and had 30 episodes of watery diarrhea over last 24 hours...could these symptoms cause my SVT?

Hi. I had a similar flu bug back in October and it kicked off my AF straight away - I don’t have svt but I think any type of virus can trigger an arrhythmia- certainly does for me! I think you just need to ride it out making sure you replace fluids and electrolytes lost so you don’t get too dehydrated which can also trigger AF
In me!
Hopefully it will not last too long - mine was 48 hours although the fatigue lasted much longer. Try to rest if you can and hope you feel better soon. Liz
Any inflamation can bring on arrhythmias but the most likely cuplrit is dehydration.
Dehydration will cause it alongside a virjs. Drink plenty and get some reydration sachets from chemist to replace lost salts. Check with pharmacist first though. Hope things sett!e soon.
I had really bad gastric flu/food poisoning a few months ago, September I think it was.
Started about 10pm after being in bed for a bit, and didn't actually stop having regular episodes of pooping water until about 4am, with two bouts of vomit in that period too (deciding which end to put nearest the toilet bowl was interesting)
HR went up and I couldn't keep anything down (including meds) for 36 hours or so, with that in mind I made sure I was forcing myself into regular sips of fluid to try and stay as hydrated as I could. It wasn't easy.
Hope everyone's had breakfast!
Yes, yes and yes. My is brought on by that! Its a bugga !
