My ex has solicitors who say they can fight my solicitor and get the money they say I need for my helpers not for all of them but a percentage. So I have no idea about my future. I do not understand how they can say someone with tbi does not need input. This is where the people that pretend spoil it for the ones of us that need help. I hate the fact that I need it but I since he had divorced me I know I need it as he used to do things for me. Obviously why he has gone to an undisabled women now.

wHY WOULD YOUR EX BE ENTITLED TO ANY OF YOUR DISABILITY Something seems wrong. Do you have a friend or relative who could go with you to see your solicitor. I think you could use some support,. Pam

sorry for caps.

Perhaps citizens advice can help you also. I wouldn't like to comment about your case That's really not what we are here for .People may give you wrong advise concerning what you say is happening between yourself and your ex Wrong advise could cost you lots of money

I’m not looking for advise just wanted to get it off my chest.

Sorry

Hello again Mufc, sorry to hear about your dilemma, it’s easy to see that you are in need of help. Any situation which involves solicitors can be fraught with frustration, stress and of course, a lot of money. This forum is experienced in help people suffering from Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and it would help if you told us if you have AF. I appreciate that you are not necessarily looking for advice and telling us may get it off your chest, but you need proper professional advice because it sounds as though you could be exposed to significant financial losses if things go wrong.

You mention your helpers so maybe you are registered as disabled and it’s possible a charity associatiated with your disability might be able offer the proper advice you need. Failing that, someone here has suggested the Citizens Advice Bureau which will have experience in dealing with the kind of help you need.

If you suffer from AF then the stress that this is causing you cannot help your condition so it might also be worth seeing your GP so that he/she is aware of what you are currently experiencing. Hopefully you have a member of your family or a close friend that can help you get through this.

I hope this helps a bit....

Sorry I do not really know I have total brain injury caused from being unconscious for a number of months following a car accident, which is what I thought this site was used for am I incorrect? I have physical and mental problems. Yes I do have people who come into my home to assist me so yes I have a solicitor who dealt with my injury, they have a divorce solicitor who I am using. I did so thinking she would have a better understanding of my situation. Not so sure now but cannot be bothered to have to go through explaining my problems. I did not realise my ex was so bad. He was driving the car when the accident happened. My daughter was in the car. Thankfully they were both ok. I had tbi. So if I am using this site incorrectly please let me know.

Thanks

Hi Mufc

Total brain injury comes under the Headway forum where you have always posted previously. We do not have their experience or expertise in this area.

Cognitive behavioural therapy might help you cope better with the reality of life on your own now.

Sorry Mufc but I think you are. As I said, here we help with AF which is a heart condition involving an irregular heartbeat (not something you would want to add to your list of troubles).

I’m not sure what else we can do to help you, but I hope you find a way to resolve your problems.....every best wish.....

So Flapjack you do not thing I need people to talk to the whole purpose of this site is for people to communicate . Obviously the people you talk to have your problem so you can communicate. Obviously my issues do not effect you so do not matter to you. So no different to people with no issues.😂😂. I thought it was a site where you did not judge people!!

in reply to Mufc

I don't mean that at all Mufc. We deal with heart conditions in this forum and it could be very dangerous if we were to offer suggestions to people with problems about which we have no knowledge or understanding. Fortunately, Oyster has traced the community where you normally post called the Headway Forum so if you contact them, you should be in familiar territory.

How nice of all of you who took the time to try and help Mufc. I just go from day to day managing my AF, I don't have any in-depth knowledge to share but always read posts. After this recent exchange I feel glad to be part of such a special forum with such well-informed and kind members.

no one is judging you, just trying to get you to the right section of Health Unlocked. All we can talk about here is our wonky hearts and related issues,as we have little no experience of brain injury ,except if you count after effects of stroke.I'm sure you will find the relevant support you need on the paths suggested.Sending best wishes

Yes most people when they see me assume I’ve had a stroke so there must be some similarities. Who knows 😂😀
