hi i had a heart ablation yesterday for svt it said ablation AVNRT could anyone explain please
avnrt ablation: hi i had a heart... - Atrial Fibrillati...
avnrt ablation
It stands for atrioventricular nodel reentry tachycardia. It's an extra pathway which the EP ablates as in your case. My EP tells me it's one of the easiest arrhythmias to ablate. Hope it proves so for you. Best wishes.
Yes, I'd echo all that meadfoot has said and add that I understand it's not only easy to treat but there's a high success rate.
I also has this procedure 18 months ago, unfortunately one of the pathways was too close to the AV.node, during the procedure they sent for the professor who came into cath lab and had a "go", but took the decision I would need to return to have a pace, maker fitted, then ablate again a few weeks later. There was some improvements from what they did manage to ablate. So I am on a watch and wait to see what happens in the future.
thankyou for replying aparentyly i had a spare electrical pathway is the av node the bit that goes down the middle of the heart im a bit confused about all there words all i no is i have suffered with svt for years becoming worse to once a month i didnt speak to the doctor after as general anasetic i was told it was sucsessful ablation and there wasnt much on my discharge note only AVNRT
