What are th side effects of atenalol

Common Side Effects of Atenolol:

Constipation, indigestion.

Dizziness or faintness.

Dry mouth.

Impotence.

Cold extremities hands and feet.

Confusion.

Depression.

Insomnia, nightmares.

I had most of them and pleaded to be taken off it after a month. We went to Barbados the week after starting it and every one we met asked how my hands could be so cold in that climate. I also found that every evening I had to struggle to keep awake but could not sleep when I went to bed even with the gentle tide lapping up the beach outside our apartment.

I have had no side effects with Atenolol in fact it changed my quality of life dramatically as I was on Bisoprolol which slowed me down, left me lethargic, breathless, cold hands and feet and gained lots of weight.

Quite extreme Tiredness and lack of exercise tolerance for me. Similar to Bisoprolol but not as bad (for me).

After trying Bisoprolol and atenolol my GP put me on Calcium channel blockers instead

Although my hospital records are marked intolerant to Bisoprolol my side effects were very different from Atenolol.
