I had a month long 2 lead heart monitor after already been dxd with svt I guess to see exactly what goes on and report came back saying svt onset afib/flutter during a whatfelt like life threatening event(heart rate was 241).did anyone here ever get svt-onset afib on a report from a monitor?my cardiologist didnt mention afib-he just called it ordinary svt-offered ablation -really tried pursueding me in fact but said my condition wasnt life threatening where I need to get it.It was a very quick visit and he rushed me out, so when I got home I looked at the ekg read out and this is where I read afib/flutter. it had normal spaced r waves except for 1 a little off. there were f waves but Im wondering if this was artifact-it was a very messy looking read out compared to a 12 lead

I only know the basics about ECGs so will not comment on them. But, I do know that SVT can often lead to AF. For some people, this is how it works. SVT ie tachchardia starts, and does not stop. Usually, in most people, tachycardia stops spontaneously after minutes, hours, days. Once in a while it does not stop, and it develops into AF. As you may know, SVT is fast and regular. AF is fast and irregular.

I think (slight doubt) neither SVT nor AF is dangerous in the short/medium term. Since this condition is aggravated by worry and stress, coming to terms with the lack of danger is actually helpful for many. But when you get it, this should be the trigger for a thorough investigation of heart, bloods, thyroid etc just to see if there is anything wrong, and maybe (not often) a reason for your SVT. After that, the question comes of how symptomatic you are. People react different ways. This leads to the highly irritating question: how does this problem make you feel? I used to hate that question, since for me, my feelings were irrelevant, and I could cope with discomfort if I knew there was a good reason to. It took me years of hearing that question until I understood that the doctor was treating the symptoms, which was according to my personal estimate of how bad they were.

thanks much-im trying to get to the bottom of it.I just made another post in heart arythmia forum because I had a short svt attack without being stressed--(odd for me!)it has to do with jugular notch beating fast after feeling a poke from under it.I have been wondering if this svt condition can make stress.(some people feel relaxed more after abaltion according to studies)I have been unrelaxed my entire life at some point everyday.I have a dr appt soon with md and will bring my print out and see what she says about all of this
