I put on here yesterday about pains I get in and around my heart and does anyone else get them but I forgot to say iv had tests for sleep apnea and just waiting for the consultants diagnoses but I think it’s that when I stop breathing at night and my heart beating hard because of that stopping breathing and I think that’s causing the pains what does anyone think..

sorry Ottis, I have no experience of sleep apnea so cannot comment but maybe you will get a chance to discuss it with your Consultant when you get your diagnosis. If the pain is acute, you should have it checked out at A&E......hope you soon get it sorted
My husband has sleep apnoea ( undiagnosed for years as he would not see doctor as not ill!) Has never had chest pain. He is however on a shedload of drugs for hypertension and coronary artery disease which may help. He is in permanent AF ( slow)
Hi Ottis. I have sleep apnea diagnosed in 2011 and docs thought it had a great deal to do with AF. I do remember some vague pains before starting on my C-PAP machine. Once I was diagnosed and the representative brought my machine and inserviced me, I had the best all-night sleep the first night I used it. I never not use it. Even for short naps, and I always take my own machine to the hospital with me (and guard it with my life.) My sleep study showed I was stopping breathing about 60 x/hour. Not unusual. Hope if this is your problem you get as much help from using C-PAP as I do. irina1975
