So as I wrote few days ago I’ve been experiencing missed/extra beats last few weeks, today I decided to go on my usual mountain walk/run I’ve been doing for last few months whilst trying to get fitter and lose some timber, successfully as I’m now 2 stone lighter.

I measured my heart rate at top of mountain at 133 on my kardia, I then proceeded to run down the trail and around the village back home where my kardia read 149..... five minutes later it read 119..... five minutes later it was 109....... however since then about 4-5 hours since I got back it’s still barely getting under 100bpm, this seems to have only been since my ablation, but it’s enough tonight to make me take a bisoprolol and take night off work.

Up at the brompton on Monday for my 12 month check up with echo, stress test and chat with dr Sabine Ernst..... my AF may have been restricted from worsening but I seem to have acquired a new problem

Raised heart rate post ablation is very common and I seem to recall a similar situation myself although I thought by a year I was pretty much OK Jugsy. I'm guessing you are not in AF. just a bit tachycardic.

Yes no af just my heart rate isn’t coming down since ablation bob, resting heart rate is still around 85-90 it’s getting me down a bit now, as most people seem to have returned to they’re post ablation heart rates rather quickly

I seem to remember it taking a good year after mine. I wondered why others had their HR back to normal within a few months. I did take a lot of exercise so we have that in common.

It took a year approx for mine to return to normal post ablation. Was high 80s, now mid 60s. AF free for almost 4 years . so patience!
