I live near Holywell, Flintshire. Through this site I had contact with a lovely lady from Mold who had had an ablation and a pacemaker fitted. Her help and wisdom were a huge help to me. Beyond that I know 4 people who have been diagnosed with AF but are on no treatment beyond beta blockers and anticoagulants. They only see GPs and nurses. I often wonder how many more are in that position.

By contrast I was seen by a very knowledgeable Cardiologist at Glan Clwyd who referred me to an Electrophysiologist at the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital where I had an ablation. There are no such facilities in North Wales and the journey to Liverpool is a problem for many.

I would be very interested to meet others with AF. Relim had talked about the possibility of meeting in Frodsham / Helsby near to the station.

Yes, there are a few of us who meet in South Lancashire - twice at Bent's Garden Centre and once at Trebaron Garden Centre, Newton-le-Willows.

At the start, there was enthusiasm only for Bent's, but I originally suggested the Bear's Paw at Frodsham. Although it's quite a long way for me (I live in Cumbria) it's a quick and easy journey by Pendolino to Warrington and just one stop further to Frodsham, which is also quite close to the motorway network. It seemed a possibility for anyone from South Lancs or North Wales.

I'm on beta blockers and anticoagulents and live in S. Liverpool and would be very happy to travel (by car) north or south. Should I be able to give anyone a lift, that would be an additional bonus!

Hi Jenny, Think it was me, I visited you, I would be happy to meet up for a coffee sometime, I live in Colwyn Bay, suffered with Af for many years, had cardio versions, 2 Ablations and eventually a pacemaker that was the best option for me. I had started collapsing

BStanding56 yes, it was you and I will be forever grateful for all your help. Sorry, wrong location, not Mold ( befuddled brain! )

I do hope you are well. Your pacemaker experience gives us all hope!
