Case by case so impossible to say as everyone is so individual.
Be very careful - go by how you feel and go very slowly and gradually. Wear a HR monitor and don't allow your HR to go high - that is what I found would put me back into AF.
I certainly did too much too soon and had to have a second so be warned.
The burns in your heart take about 12 weeks to heal but I found it took something like 9 months before my HR went back to normal.
Ditto with previous comments. Remember that the heart will take weeks to scar so it is important to be careful. But, that doesn't mean you can't be active when you feel able. Go for walks, watch you heart rate and go from there. It seems to me that it is better to err on the side of caution for now.
I know its annoying but having a break from the gym for a few weeks on the chance that it will improve recovery is well worth the effort.
I believe I started light lifting about two weeks after my ablation.
If you mean lifting weights and other heavy working out I'd say 4 to 6 months. Any stressful arm movement is just going to prolong the healing of the heart.
But if just the walking machine then a couple of weeks. Even better go and do the same routine outdoors if possible. 3 miles a day is about right
