Red spots

I'm taking Flecanaide and Pradaxa for PAF. Lately, I've been getting red spots on my arms. They are a bit raised and ugly! Does anyone on the forum suffer from these? I'm thinking they are related to the Pradaxa I started four months ago. Any info would be very much appreciated , Gracey

Morning Gracey. I've allergies of 4 medications ranging from red blotches to sickness to itching. I take pradaxa and have no trouble at all. I've taken it for 2 years. I suppose "one man's meat is another man's poison "must come to mind though. So maybe you could try something else. Hope you get lucky. x

There was a similar post a few days ago about rivaroxaban you may wish to view.

I've had a lot lately but I think it's mosquitos and midges making a meal of me. Are they itchy?

Hello Gracey23, I am on Pradaxa and been on Flecainide for 4 months now. A month go I developed a red spot on my wrist about a centimetre in size. As I`ve had skin `issues` with nonmalingnant skin cancers Ive been keeping my eye on it. It hasnt changed. I am due to see my dermatologist thismonth for a check up so I will of course ask him to check.. I will kee[ you posted. Pat

Are these tiny red spots look as if they'd bleed if you popped them. If so I've had them on and off for years. They appear on my chest and body. Asked GP about them once. He gave me a name which I've forgotten and said they are harm less.Obviously check though next time you see doc or before if you're worried.

@Gracey23 yes. bleeding from micro capillaries under the skin--why don't you tell your nurse or gp who manages your med rx's that you are bleeding these are called petichae.

Hello Gracey,

I've been on Pradaxa for 7 weeks now. When I was on vacation a couple weeks ago, I got a little too much sun and it was almost 100F every day, by day 3 of vacation, I broke out in a red, bumpy rash all over my arms. No where else but my arms. They went away a couple days later. I'm assuming it's from the pradaxa bc that's the only new medication I started this summer. I brought it up to my EP the other day when I saw him and he shrugged it off..

I was on Xarelto for 20 months, had horrible nose bleeds & red spots all over my legs, a few on my abdomen. Dermatologist said it was capillaritis, bleeding from the capillaries. EP switched me to Eliquis, same problem only worse after just 7 weeks on it. Switched to Coumadin, nosebleeds stopped, the red spots went away. Conclusion is I can't take the new anticoagulants.

I have something simliar on my arms and legs but I am only on Bisoprolol. I am under the Dematologist and she thinks it is either a drug reaction from the Bisoprolol or Pityriasis lichenoides chronica. She wants me to be put on an alternative to Bisoprolol to see if it goes away but unfortunately I have exhausted most of the alternatives as they all gave me extreme fatigue (the Bisoprolol gives me fatigue but not as bad). I am undergoing a course of UV treatment starting next week to see if that clears it up.

Thank you. I have appointment with EP and Dermatologist on Monday. I will let you know what they say. I'm on Pradaxa and Flecanaide but never had this before starting Pradaxa. Good health to you, Gracey

I had red spots and welts on my arms after taking flecainide for a few weeks. After stopping flecainide they disappeared, and I now use as pip.
