Do others find that gums bleed way more profusely when tooth brushing ? It's slightly alarming to look like Dracula

Gums ONLY bleed if you have gum problems. See your dental hygienist
This is true! Mine were bleeding quite a lot and i suppose worse since warfarin. I saw my dentist who helped me with propper flossing and now they dont bleed at all and i am still on warfarin. It was amazing how quickly the bleeding stopped actually. Good luck. X
My private dentist (No NHS available here) told me that my gum problems were a direct result of a life time of NHS dentistry where no real effort at hygiene is made. NHS dentistry he says is pure reactive and not proactive. A quick polish at the end of a visit is not sufficient!
It is too late for me now although I have three monthly hygienist visits which are holding on to my few remaining teeth. Rather tenuously in some cases.
I have always had good dentist hygiene and when I started riveroxaban (anticaugolant) my gums started bleeding terrible when brushing. When eating I would end up with blood on my food, and also wake up in the night with blood around my teeth I was having to rinse my mouth at 4am! Told my doctor he said it could be a result of the thinners however as I was only on a two month course post ablation he said finish the course. I have been off them for two weeks have had NO bleeding at all! 😀
Floss daily!!
Elaine, what happens if you get a minor cut somewhere on your body? Does it bleed profusely as well? If so, maybe it's the apixaban. Otherwise, get thee to a dentist.
Grandma, I know you mean well, but flossing makes the gums bleed, too.
Luckily not cut myself yet but I'm guessing I would ! I am v keen on dental hygiene and see hygienist regularly. It's the Apixaban for sure
Co Q 10 is supposed to be very good for improving the health of gums
