I have to have a ct of my heart my kidney function test is still low it was 44 now I have got it to 56 should be 60 iwas wondering has anyone had a problem with the contrast they use as I have to have it before my Ablation

No . just makes you feel as if you wet yourself but you haven't

Sorry I meant has anyone had a problem with the kidneys because my egfr is a bit low they are a bit concerned about using the contrast

I also had an EGFR of about 56. I had contrast for the MI scan and no problem. Best of luck with the ablation. My ablation helped push my EGFR up to 65 where it's stayed since over the last few years.

My low EGFR may have been a false reading though as I was exercising a lot and the muscle breakdown may have pushed the figure down. My creatinine test was normal.

Everyone with AF should have a kidney function test, it should be a standard annual thing but in my experience unless you ask for it you don't get.

Thank you Mark I am very lucky I have a good team GP! Cardiologist ,and EP they seem to be on top of everything still have 3months to work on kidneys as my daughters are going to be in the Uk and don't want me to have the Ablation till they get back
